Le Mans Virtual Series Champion 2022/23 & 2nd Place 24h Le Mans Virtual

18. January 2023

The grand finale of the Le Mans Virtual Series, the virtual counterpart of the FIA World Endurance Championship, took place last weekend.

The #20 Porsche Coanda LMP2 prototype was shared between Ayhancan Güven, Joshua Rogers, Mitchell deJong and myself. Despite our strong lineup we knew it would still be a tough competition as the other teams would also bring top-notch simracers and real drivers: Among others two-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen, Romain Grosjean and many more.

As a real life driver was mandatory to start the race, I took over the start and could successfully hand over the car to two-time Porsche Esports Supercup Champion Joshua Rogers in first place.

We could find our rhythm quickly and defend our lead until the race was disturbed by connection issues during the last third of it. Many teams lost connection for a short time, but could resume the race shortly after. We were also affected which meant we not only lost our lead, but also had to catch up 2 minutes to the leader.

We didn’t give up and crossed the finish line 21 seconds behind the winner in second place.

This was enough to jump to P1 in the championship and decide the Le Mans Virtual Series for us!
