We got up to grips early, so I found myself on the way to Road Atlanta where the season finale of the North American one-make series took place.

We came highly motivated and well prepared after a test beforehand to get used to the new track and team. I knew the car already as it’s identical to the model we’re using in the European championships. While setting a new track record I managed to secure Pole Position for both races in an exciting qualifying on Thursday morning.

Unfortunately my brakes failed in the first race and an impact was unavoidable. Nevertheless the team 311RS Motorsport did a flawless job to fix the Porsche GT3 Cup overnight. Thanks to them I could start the second race on Friday to bring home a sensational win. It was not only the first victory at my first outing in North America, but also the premiere on the top step of the podium for the team.

Overall it was a week with ups and downs, but we didn’t lose our motivation and ambition to win so we could achieve our common goal in the end.
